August 6, Fineko/abc.az. During the first half of 2026, 7 oil production wells, 3 water injection wells, and 2 gas injection wells were completed at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field block, according to bp Azerbaijan.

A major milestone of the period was the "C44" oil production well, drilled from the West Azeri platform. It entered service as the first-ever multilateral well drilled in the Caspian Sea. Completed safely and significantly ahead of schedule, the well was handed over a month earlier than planned. The deployment of multilateral well technology marks a strategic step toward maximizing oil recovery from this mature field.

By the end of June, a total of 150 oil production wells, 51 water injection wells, and 11 gas injection wells were in operation across the ACG block.
