Boeing Secures Long-Awaited FAA Certification for 737 MAX 7

22:19 - 3.08.2026

August 3, Fineko/abc.az. US aerospace giant Boeing has officially received type certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its 737 MAX 7 aircraft. The regulatory clearance opens the way for commercial sales and customer deliveries of the smallest MAX variant.

The certification milestone comes after multi-year delays, as Boeing originally targeted regulatory approval prior to late 2022. Last month, Boeing completed final regulatory steps regarding engine anti-ice system modifications. FAA leadership expects certification for the larger MAX 10 variant to follow shortly after the MAX 7.

According to aviation data firm Cirium, Boeing has produced approximately 30 MAX 7 and 9 MAX 10 aircraft currently awaiting customer delivery. The MAX 10 model accounts for at least 28% of Boeing's total 737 MAX order backlog.
