August 1, Fineko/abc.az. US energy majors ExxonMobil and Chevron released their financial results for the second quarter of 2026 (April–June). Surging global crude prices—driven by escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and shipping disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz—fueled significant profit expansion for both companies.

Key financial metrics:

  • ExxonMobil: Net profit jumped 105.1% year-over-year to $14.5 billion in Q2 (up from $7.1 billion in Q2 2025). Earnings per share rose from $1.64 to $3.48.

  • Chevron: Net profit surged 384.8% year-over-year to $12.1 billion (up from $2.5 billion in the same period last year). Earnings per share increased from $1.45 to $6.11.
