July 20, Fineko/abc.az. The new leader of the Labour Party, Andy Burnham, has officially assumed office as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom following an audience with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace.

Burnham, who previously served as the Mayor of Greater Manchester, secured a seat in parliament after winning the Makerfield by-election and ran unopposed for the party leadership. In his inaugural address, the new Prime Minister pledged to focus on combating the rising cost of living and advancing the devolution of power.
