Iraq and United States Sign 48 Landmark Economic Agreements

July 18, Fineko/abc.az. During Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi's official visit to Washington, public and private sector entities from Iraq and the United States signed 48 agreements, memoranda of understanding (MoUs), and partnership declarations.

According to the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Press Office, the strategic package aims to elevate bilateral ties across oil, energy, technology, finance, agriculture, education, and pharmaceuticals.

Under the sweeping framework, Iraq's Ministries of Oil and Electricity finalized key partnerships with US energy giants including ExxonMobil, KBR, GE Vernova, Shell, and Halliburton. Furthermore, Iraq's Communications and Media Commission (CMC) inked a cooperation deal with Starlink, alongside several private sector agreements established with technology and consumer goods brands such as Keyslight Technology, PepsiCo, and Frito-Lay.
