July 1, Fineko/abc.az. KazMunayGas (KMG) and Chevron have discussed exporting Kazakh oil to global markets through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline as an additional export route.

The matter was raised during a meeting in Astana between KMG Chairman Askhat Khassenov and Chevron Upstream President Clay Neff, ABC.AZ informs, referring to KMG.

KMG and Chevron also reviewed cooperation in geological exploration and are currently assessing opportunities to work together on prospective exploration projects in Kazakhstan. In addition, the two sides discussed the continued transportation of Kazakh oil through the CPC pipeline and the use of the BTC route to diversify export options.

At the conclusion of the meeting, KazMunayGas and Chevron reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their mutually beneficial partnership.
