Interest rates on newly-attracted deposits increased in Azerbaijan

June 25, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, the average interest rate on newly-attracted term manat deposits in June 2026 was 7.96% (1.42 p.p. higher than 6.54% at the beginning of the year).

ABC.AZ that according to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the average interest rate on manat deposits decreased slightly from 7.99% to 7.96% in June compared to May.

The average interest rate on newly-given manat loans was 18.30% in June. Although this rate increased by 0.38 p.p. against 17.92% in May, it remains below the 19.05% rate recorded in March.

The average interest rate on newly attracted foreign currency term deposits decreased to 2.60% in June. The average interest rate on foreign currency loans also decreased from 6.24% in May to 5.39%.

The CBA has already announced four interest rate decisions this year. The regulator last eased its monetary policy in February by lowering the discount rate by 25 basis points to 6.5%. At that time, the lower limit of the interest rate corridor was lowered to 5.5%, and the upper limit was lowered to 7.5%. The country's annual inflation rate was 5.6% in May.
