June 11, Fineko/abc.az. The military and political crisis in the Middle East has entered a critical phase. The military headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, Hatem al-Anbiya, announced the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz to shipping after the US strikes on the southern regions of the country.
ABC.AZ reports that the official statement of the agency emphasizes that due to the security threat, the Strait of Hormuz is closed from now on to all types of vessels, including oil tankers and merchant ships. Any attempts to cross the strait will be severely suppressed.
First strikes on ships: Immediately after the publication of the warning, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the destruction of two ships that attempted to pass through the Strait without Iran's approval.
Trump's order: Earlier, the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) announced the start of a series of strikes on military installations in Iran as part of an "act of self-defense" authorized by President Donald Trump. Key strategic zones in southern Iran have been attacked.
