June 8, Fineko/abc.az. Turkey attracted preferential external financing from the World Bank in the amount of 191.5 million euros within the Green Cities of the Future.
ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Ministry of Treasury & Finance of Turkey, that the loan will be given under Ministry's state guarantee to state-owned bank Illet Bankasi. The funds will be used to modernize the municipal infrastructure: development of eco-friendly urban transport, drinking water supply and wastewater treatment systems.
Minister of Treasury & Finance Mehmet Shimshek noted that since the beginning of 2026, the total amount of profitable external financing attracted by Turkey has reached almost $4.5 billion. He added that support for regional environmental programs and combating climate change will remain a priority of country's medium-term economic strategy.
