June 4, Fineko/abc.az. As digitalization increases, cybersecurity also occupies a special place in the daily lives of states, organizations, enterprises, and, of course, citizens.
ABC.AZ informs that Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samaddin Asadov stated this at the IV National Cybersecurity Forum in Baku.
He noted that although digital services such as electronic payments, cloud solutions and artificial intelligence solutions used by everyone make people's lives much more comfortable, they also create new risks: "Cyber attacks are no longer aimed at individual information systems, but at the entire infrastructure, economic processes and social stability. It is for these reasons that cybersecurity is one of the strategic priorities worldwide. In Azerbaijan, this area is in the focus of President Ilham Aliyev's constant attention. In recent years, significant steps have been taken to improve the legal framework, expand institutional capabilities, and train qualified personnel in the field of information security and cybersecurity. The main directions of these activities are defined by Information Security & Cybersecurity Strategy 2023-2027 and Action Plan for Accelerating Digital Development 2026-2028.
Recalling that the National Cybersecurity Agency was recently established on the basis of the Electronic Security Service operating under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the deputy minister noted that the new agency will further develop the experience, potential and institutional capabilities developed in this area: "The agency faces such important issues as regulation and control. in the field of cybersecurity in the country, as well as coordination of the activities of the subjects of the sustainable information infrastructure on cybersecurity, informing at the national level about possible cyber threats."
