June 2, Fineko/abc.az. Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington.

ABC.AZ informs that during the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for development of Turkmen-American cooperation in a wide range of areas.

Special attention was paid to cooperation in the trade, economic, energy, transport and communication spheres. In this context, the parties stressed the importance of expanding mutually beneficial partnership, including on issues of energy security and diversification of energy supply routes, in particular, along the Trans-Caspian routes.

Issues of cooperation in the field of regional security, combating modern challenges and threats, as well as interaction within the multilateral formats, including the C5+1 diplomatic platform, were also discussed.
