ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov made this statwement at today’s event on the theme "Cities at the center of connectivity: Urban reconstruction & regional cooperation" within the WUF13 in Baku.
"This process means not only an increase in energy production, but also new industrial transformation, as well as a reduction in emissions by nearly 2.4 million tons a year," the minister said.
He added that power transmission lines, transport corridors, fiber-optic networks and electrical interconnectors are becoming new "arteries" of the global system, and the 21st century is already characterized as the "century of connectivity".
Shahbazov underlined that connectivity today means not only infrastructure and trade, but also sustainability, stability and regional cooperation. According to the minister, Azerbaijan, located at the intersection of East and West, North and South, is turning into one of the key centers of connectivity in Eurasia.
