May 18, Fineko/abc.az. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke about plans to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of energy and digital technologies.
ABC.AZ reports that the Serbian leader noted this during his speech at WUF13 in Baku.
"We are looking forward to cooperating with our Azerbaijani friends on the construction of a gas-fired power plant near the city of Nis," he said.
President Vucic also stressed the importance of using technologies and artificial intelligence to develop Smart cities and solve problems such as overcrowding, traffic congestion and waste management.
"Technologies, digitalization and AI can play a key role in the future development of cities. Smart cities are the future," he underlined.
The Serbian president drew attention to the experience of Belgrade, where free public transport is already practiced, and stated that it is planned to expand the fleet of electric buses in order to reduce air pollution.
"We are actively developing new approaches to urban mobility and want to use Azerbaijan's experience to implement joint projects," he emphasized.
The Serbian leader stressed that cooperation with Azerbaijan will include digital technologies and supercomputers that will help Serbia improve energy management and urban infrastructure.
"We have two modern supercomputers in Kragujevac, and the third one will be put into operation soon. This will improve the digital governance of cities and accelerate transition to sustainable energy sources," he explained.
