Cisco to cut 5% of employees amid profit growth

May 14, Fineko/abc.az. Cisco announced a reduction of around  5% of its staff, despite record financial results: revenue reached $15.8 bn (+12%), and profit reached $3.4 bn (+35%).

ABC.AZ reports that the company attributes the layoffs to the need to focus on priority areas, including artificial intelligence, security, and semiconductors.

Dismissed employees will be offered employment assistance and free training on the Cisco U platform for a year. The restructuring is taking place amid an increase in orders and active development of the AI infrastructure, which is becoming a key driver of company's business.
