April 29, Fineko/abc.az. The number of unique term deposit depositors has increased in the banking sector.

ABC.AZ informs that in March, the indicator grew by 2.7%, or by 5,387 people, reaching 207,500 people.

Since the beginning of the year, growth has been 6.9%, or 13,335 people. Demand deposits of legal entities were formed at the level of 15.86 billion manats (75.6% of the overall deposit portfolio of legal entities).

In the first quarter of 2026, the banks received operating profit of 521 million manats, net profit of 372 million manats, and during this period they paid income tax in the amount of 84.6 million manats.

The growth was also recorded in monetary indicators. In March, the volume of money supply (M2) in manats increased by 12.5% versus Q1 of 2025 to 40 billion. manats. Since the beginning of 2026, the external liabilities of the banking sector have decreased by 467 million manats to 2.79 billion. manats. This drop is mainly linked with reduction in liabilities on settlement accounts of non-resident legal entities and short-term deposits of foreign banks.
