Russia may stop Kazakh oil supplies to Germany via Druzhba

April 21, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from May 1, Russia may suspend the transit of Kazakh oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline; the updated schedule has already been sent to the parties.

ABC.AZ informs that the reasons are not specified. Rosneft's assets in Germany, including the Schwedt refinery, were previously placed under the control of the regulator, but a direct link to the possible shutdown has not been confirmed.

Dmitry Peskov said he had no information and promised to check it.

In 2025, oil exports from Kazakhstan to Germany via Druzhba increased to 2.146 million tons (+44% yoy, nearly 43,000 b/d). Supplies go via the northern branch through Poland, but cover only 12-14% of the refinery's needs; the bulk comes by sea through the port of Rostock.

After Germany's abandonment of Russian oil in 2022, the PCK Raffinerie refinery partially uses Kazakhstani raw materials. The northern branch of Druzhba ends at this plant in Schwedt.
