April 17, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Mar 2026, 6.991 bn kWh of electricity was generated at thermal power plants in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in the operational data on electricity indicators for Q1, published by the Ministry of Energy.

The indicator is 672.7 million kWh, or 10.6% more versus Jan-Mar 2025.

Over the past 3 months, 510.5 million kWh of electricity was produced at hydroelectric power plants (-23.8%) and 414.5 million kWh from other sources (a rise of 2.3-fold).

The wind power plants generated 247.7 million kWh (+26.1 times) and solar power plants - 91.3 million kWh (-18.8%).

In the 1st quarter of this year, the Solid Waste Incinerator produced 75.5 million kWh of electricity (13.6 million kWh, or 22% more against Jan-Mar 2025).
