Insurance premiums for voluntary health insurance decreased by 3.21%

April 6, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Feb 2026, the insurance premiums for voluntary medical insurance in Azerbaijan decreased by 3.21% compared with the 2025 same term to 65.77 million manats, ABC.AZ reports, referring to Central Bank’s statistical bulletin.

The insurance payments increased by 20.84% up to 13.88 million manats.

As a result, the medical insurance loss ratio grew from 16.91% for Jan-Feb 2025 up to 21.10% in 2026.

For comparison, in the first 2 months of 2025, insurance premiums increased by 7.97% compared with 2024, while insurance payments decreased by 19.43%.

For Jan-Feb 2026, the premiums on non-life insurance personal insurance declined by 2% to 68.25 million manats, while payments increased to 14.27 million manats.
