April 1, Fineko/abc.az. Growth of 7.46% was reported in the first 2 months of 2026 on life insurance premiums in Azerbaijan compared with Jan-Feb 2025 up to 118.31 million manats.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, that insurance payments grew faster for Jan-Feb 2026, by 44.36% up to 100.75 million manats.

As a result, the loss ratio for life insurance grew from 63.40% in 2025 up to 85.17% in 2026. For comparison, in 2025, the premiums increased by 26.43% and compensation payments by 16.24%.

In 2026, life insurance premiums increased by 6.03% up to 109.89 million manats and payments by 44.60% up to 99.67 million manats.

In case of death, life insurance premiums grew by 25.05% and payments by 43.63%.

As for disability insurance, the premiums grew by 47.12%, while payments decreased by 81.25%.

For insurance against incurable diseases, premiums increased by 63.44% and payments by 18.62%.
