April 1, Fineko/abc.az. SOCAR Trading and the Egyptian State Oil Corporation (EGPC) signed a framework cooperation agreement in Cairo as part of the 9th Egyptian International Energy Conference and Exhibition (EGYPS 2026).
ABC.AZ informs that the document was signed by SOCAR Trading CEO Natig Mustafayev and EGPC Executive Director Salah Abdel Kerim.
In an interview, Mustafayev said that SOCAR has been cooperating with Egypt for 15 years: "This framework agreement will create conditions for further expansion of our cooperation. Our investment and trade opportunities in various fields will increase."
In turn, Abdel Kerim congratulated SOCAR on the signing of the agreement. He noted that this document will further simplify the access of SOCAR's oil and gas products to the Egyptian market: "Egypt is a large and promising market. We are pleased with SOCAR's activities here and would like the company not only to supply crude oil, but also to take an active part in exploration and production in Egypt."
Abdel Kerim added that Azerbaijan and Egypt have close cooperation at the level of heads of state and relevant structures, and his country is interested in further deepening these ties in the oil and gas sector.
The signing ceremony was attended by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Elkhan Polukhov.
