March 3, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. has prepared a package of measures to curb the rise in global oil prices after the start of the U.S.-Israeli operation against Iran.
ABC.AZ informs, quoting U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, that implementation of the program will begin on March 3. The plan was developed jointly with Energy Secretary Christopher Wright and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant. Rubio noted that the discussion of measures took place the night before and continued on the morning of March 2.
He acknowledged that the markets are reacting to the events around Iran. Rubio said that Tehran has the potential to influence nearly 20% of global energy supplies through the capabilities of its naval forces.
"We will destroy their naval forces," Rubio said, commenting on the risks to shipping and oil supplies.
At the same time, he did not disclose the details of the price stabilization program.
