Russia's oil revenues fell to a 5-year low

11:09 - 5.02.2026

February 5, Fineko/abc.az. In January, Russia's oil revenues declined to their lowest level since June 2020 amid falling global prices, rising discounts and a strengthening ruble.

ABC.AZ informs that tax revenues from the oil industry have halved to 281.7 billion rubles, while overall revenues from the oil & gas sector decreased by 50% to 393.3 billion rubles.

The situation was aggravated by U.S. sanctions: the discount on Urals oil rose up to $26 per barrel from $12 a year earlier. At the same time, the average price of Urals in the calculations of the Ministry of Finance was $39.18 per barrel, significantly lower than the price of $59 budgeted for 2026.
