February 3, Fineko/abc.az. Oil & gas company QatarEnergy has signed a 27-year agreement on the sale of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with Japan's largest energy company JERA Co.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to Bloomberg, that according to the agreement, JERA will receive nearly 3 million tons of LNG from QatarEnergy each year. According to the agency, Qatar supplied Japan with around 3.3 million tons of fuel last year.

It is noted that the conclusion of this agreement is a positive signal for Qatar. This is linked with the fact that in recent years the country has gradually lost ground in Japan, as national energy companies preferred more flexible supply terms to other exporters such as the U.S.
