January 29, Fineko/abc.az. The construction of the Zangezur power transmission line has begun in order to connect the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to the main electric power system of the country, as well as the formation of international energy corridor Azerbaijan–Turkey–Europe. AzerEnergy is laying a 74-km double-circuit 330 kV high-voltage transmission line with capacity of 1,000 MW from Jabrayil to Agband and a parallel 105-km transmission line from Nakhchivan to Ordubad.
ABC.AZ reports, referring to AzerEnergy, that at the next stage of the project, an additional 44-km power transmission line will be constructed along the Zangezur Corridor, which will be connected to the Agbend–Ordubad transmission line in the future. At the same time, a new 330 kV substation will be built in Nakhchivan.
Another strategic stage is to be implemented as part of the continuation of the Azerbaijan–Turkey–Europe energy corridor project. Thus, it is planned to lay a 230-km 400 kV power transmission line from Nakhchivan to Turkey and, for the first time in the country's history, build a converter substation for the 400 kV voltage class.
