January 28, Fineko/abc.az. Japanese holding company SoftBank is negotiating an additional $30 bn investment in artificial intelligence company OpenAI.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to Bloomberg, that SoftBank is already one of the largest investors in chatbot developer ChatGPT. Last year, the Japanese group invested more than $40 bn in OpenAI.

One of the sources of the publication warned that negotiations are at an early stage, and the amount of funding may change. If the deal goes through, OpenAI's total valuation could be around $830 bn.

SoftBank shares at the stock exchange in Japan grew by 8% amid this news. Growth slowed to 3% on January 28, at 9:54 a.m. (Baku time).
