Import of animal products from two countries in Azerbaijan restricted

According to official data from the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), foot-and-mouth disease has been reported in the Akkar and Baalbek el-Hirmil provinces of the Lebanese Republic, and blutang disease has been reported in the Telshiai and Siauliai counties of the Republic of Lithuania.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan that in order to protect the territory of the republic from these infectious diseases, taking into account the principle of zoning, the Agency, in accordance with the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code, imposed temporary restrictions on the import of relevant animal products from these regions.

At the same time, an appeal was sent to the State Customs Committee to take the necessary measures.
