December 24, Fineko/abc.az. - (special news) - Some well-known hotels and tourist sites in the world and Azerbaijan have closed this year.

ABC.AZ survey shows the Sonder Hotel chain in the USA announced a sudden closure, and the famous The Westin Paris was closed on April 27, 2025 with plans to open in 2028.

The Jamaica Hyatt Resorts ceased operations in 2025 due to financial problems. Saudi hotel group Makkada Otel, including more than 25 hotels, closed because of non-compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

In Azerbaijan, the Continental Hotel in Baku (Binagadi district) was closed in 2025 due to violations of fire safety standards.
