October 29, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of transactions of foreign citizens on bank cards in Azerbaijan has grown up to a maximum level since December 2023, reaching 158.4 million manats in September.

ABC.AZ informs that the volume of foreign card transactions grew up to 1.139 billion manats in the first 3 quarters (64.82 million manats, or 6% more than a year ago).

The vast majority of foreigners carried out transactions with Visa cards. For example, in September alone, 97.8 million manats of these transactions were carried out with Visa, 55 million manats with MasterCard and 1.5 million manats with American Express.

For the the first 3 quarters of 2022, this figure was 1.657 billion manats, in 2023 - 1.606 billion manats, in 2024 - 1.74 billion manats.

According to the State Border Service, 1,948,200 foreigners and stateless persons from 183 countries arrived in Azerbaijan for Jan-Sept 2025, or 1.8% less versus the 2024 same term.
