October 23, Fineko/abc.az. Supporting the development of Islamic finance in Azerbaijan is Turkey's strategic goal.
ABC.AZ informs that the representative of the Office of Investments & Finance under the President of Turkey Taryk Akin, speaking at the Islamic Financial Forum 2025 in Baku.
He pointed out that the Islamic financial system, based on ethical principles, transparency, risk sharing and fair income distribution, is becoming an important tool for sustainable development.
"We consider it a strategic goal to support the development of this sphere not only in Turkey, but throughout the region, especially in Azerbaijan," Akin added.
He also noted that the reconstruction work in Karabakh opens up wide investment opportunities for the use of Islamic financial instruments such as sukuk, takaful and participation mechanisms.
"These tools can become an alternative source of financing for various projects in the region," he stressed.
According to the Turkish representative, the energy potential, strategic position and sustainable development open up opportunities for Azerbaijan to become a global financial center.
