OpenAI, Oracle and SoftBank to build five data centers for $400 bn as part of Stargate project

September 24, Fineko/abc.az. OpenAI, with partners Oracle and SoftBank, are investing over $400 bn in the construction of 5 large data centers in the U.S. for AI-megaproject Stargate.

ABC.AZ reports that the facilities will be located in Texas, New Mexico, Ohio and the Midwest. The capacity of data centers will be increased up to almost 7 GW, the launch of the first sites is scheduled for the next year and a half.

The project will create nearly 25,000 jobs and will be a key step in providing OpenAI with the necessary computing resources.
