September 11, Fineko/abc.az. India plans to expand its LNG import capacity. To achieve this, the country will build two LNG terminals.

According to ABC.AZ, this was announced by Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

India already ranks fourth in the world in terms of gas imports. In 2024, supplies reached 28 million tons, which is 26% more than a year earlier.

The main exporters were Qatar, the US, the UAE, and Angola.

The expansion of LNG receiving capacity is part of New Delhi’s strategy to increase the share of gas in the energy balance from 6% to 15% by 2030, which will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
