September 9, Fineko/abc.az. Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Taleh Kazimov received a delegation from Visa led by Tarek Mahmoud, Regional President for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

ABC.AZ reports, citing the CBA, that the meeting featured a detailed exchange of views on the large-scale activities carried out in recent years in the country’s financial sector, the development of a competitive and innovative payment infrastructure, the promotion of cashless payments, as well as existing opportunities and new initiatives to expand digital payment acceptance. The importance of cooperation with experienced companies such as Visa was emphasized in terms of studying and applying international expertise and modern approaches.

The sides also discussed prospects for further cooperation between the Central Bank and Visa, as well as the future development of the financial technology ecosystem.
