September 2, Fineko/abc.az. According to Moody’s, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are emerging as regional leaders in renewable energy development.
ABC.AZ reports that growth in intraregional trade across Central Asia and the Caucasus highlights significant potential for strengthening energy connectivity. However, limited capacity in the sector and insufficient diversification of energy resources constrain the region’s ability to meet rising electricity demand.
“For example, Armenia was compelled to accelerate energy reforms and diversify supplies following a deterioration in relations with Russia, its primary gas supplier,” the report notes.
