August 21, Fineko/abc.az. In January–June of this year, 727.7 thousand tons of crude oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous materials worth $350.8 million were imported into Azerbaijan.

According to the State Statistics Committee, compared to the same period last year, imports of these products to Azerbaijan decreased by $203.8 million (36.7%) in value terms and by 253.7 thousand tons (25.8%) in volume terms.

During this period, crude oil and petroleum products were imported from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Iraq. In the first six months of this year:

41.8 thousand tons worth $22.6 million were purchased from Kazakhstan,

685.7 thousand tons worth $328.1 million from Russia,

and 141 thousand tons of bituminous materials worth just $52,000 from Iraq.

No exports of petroleum products from Azerbaijan in the opposite direction were recorded during the reporting period.

It should be noted that in January–June of this year, 12 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous materials worth $6.4 billion were exported from Azerbaijan to 18 countries. This figure is $602.8 million (8.6%) lower in value terms, but 947.5 thousand tons (8.5%) higher in volume terms compared to the same period of 2024.
