Capital expenditures on South Caucasus pipeline grew by 50%

August 7, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st half of 2025, the operating costs of the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) amounted to about $36 million and capital expenditures - around $12 million. 

ABC.AZ informs with reference to BP's report on the results of operations in Azerbaijan for the 1st half of this year that operating costs decreased by 3.5% against Jan-Jun 2024, while capital expenditures increased by 50%.

"The SCP was commissioned at the end of 2006 and supplies Azerbaijani gas from Shah Deniz field to Georgia and Turkey, and the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion System began supplying commercial volumes of gas to Turkey in June 2018 and to Europe in December 2020," the report says.

In the first 6 months of the year, the average daily throughput of South Caucasus pipeline for export reached 63.1 million cu m. 
The SCP investors are: BP (29.99%), Southern Gas Corridor (21.02%), LUKOIL (19.99%), TPAO (19.00%), NIKO (10.00%).
