Oil transportation to date via BTC published

August 7, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st half of this year, approx. $60 million were spent on operating costs and $30 million on capital expenditures for oil pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to BP’s report on the results of the 1st half of this year that with commissioning in June 2006 to the end of the 1st half of 2025, a total of nearly 605 million tons of crude oil (around 4.6 billion barrels) were carried via the 1,768 km long BTC pipeline that was loaded onto 6,007 tankers in Ceyhan and shipped to world markets.

"In the 1st half of this year, close to 13 million tons (around 106 million barrels) of crude oil and condensate exported via BTC were loaded onto 145 tankers at Ceyhan Terminal and shipped," the report says.

Currently, mainly ACG oil and Shah Deniz condensate are transported from Azerbaijan via BTC pipeline. In addition, other regional volumes of Caspian crude oil and condensate (Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, as well as other volumes produced by SOCAR in Azerbaijan) are transported through BTC.
