New fines approved for NGOs that violate law

August 5, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has imposed the new fines for NGOs for violation of legal requirements relating to provision of services and performance of work.

ABC.AZ informs that President Ilham Aliyev has approved the relevant amendments to the Administrative Offences Code.

According to the draft law, officials will be fined from 1,500 to 2,500 manats and legal entities from 5,000 to 7,000 manats in case an NGO fails to submit contracts for provision of services or fulfillment of work at the expense of external sources of financing within the time limits set by law for registration.

Provision of services or performance of work by NGOs without a contract for provision of services or performance of work at the expense of external financial sources or under such an unregistered contract, as well as the receipt of financial and (or) other material resources in connection with this, entails the imposition of a fine on officials in the amount of 2,500 to 5,000 manats and on legal entities - from 8,000 to 15,000 manats.

For conducting banking and other transactions by NGOs, banks and other payment service providers under contracts for services or work financed from foreign sources not registered in accordance with the procedure established by the Law on NGOs (Public Associations and Foundations), officials are fined from 2,500 to 5,000 manats, and legal entities - from 5,000 to 8,000 manats.
