July 15, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan’s electricity production for the 1st half of this year amounted to 291.5 million kWh (a rise of 2.2% up to 13.849 bn kWh).

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry of Energy that during this period, the country generated 11.519 bn kWh at thermal power plants, 1.86 bn kWh at hydroelectric power plants, and on othee sources - 470.1 million kWh, including 21 million kWh at wind power plants, 314.6 million kWh at solar power plants, and 134.5 million kWh at the Solid Waste Incineration Plant.

Our country generated 2.33 bn kWh of electricity from renewable energy sources (14.6%, or 297.2 million kWh more versus Jan-Jun 2024).

Electricity production by Azerenergy for thre past 6 months totaled 12.323 bn kWh (at thermal power plants - 10.44 bn kWh, at hydroelectric power plants - 1.85 bn kWh, at hydroelectric power plants - 30.7 million kWh), at Azerishig - 14.6 million kWh at wind farms, and at independent power plants - 1.5 bn kWh.

Azerbaijan’s electricity exports grew by 59.9% up to 709.9 million kWh, while imports decreased by 15.9% to 81.1 million kWh.
