A unified approach should be applied in Azerbaijan with respect to finances at the disposal of governmental agencies, ABC.AZ reports, quoting MP Vugar Bayramov as saying this during the discussion of the draft amendments to the Law on Police at the next meeting of the extraordinary session of Parliament.

"Different governmental agencies use different approaches to spending these funds, different interest rates. Are there any criteria for determining those interest rates? It would be better to use a single approach, to use a single fixed interest rate," he said.

According to the amended law, from now on 5% of fines imposed by police officers in connection with committed offenses are to be added to the treasury account created for their social protection.
