July 1, Fineko/abc.az. According to Fitch Ratings’ forecasts, deficit of the State Budget of Azerbaijan in 2025 will amount to 600 million manats.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to Fitch that deficit will increase up to 1.1 billion manats in 2026.

The Agency attributes this to several factors - lower than budgeted oil prices, continued, albeit declining, capital expenditures for the reconstruction of Karabakh, and pressure from defense and social security spending.

According to official statistics, State Budget revenues for Jan-May 2025 totaled 17.138 billion manats (7.1% more versus Jan-May 2024), and expenditures - 13.69 billion manats (+1.6%).

Budget revenues were executed 3.9% higher than forecast, and budget expenditures - 3.5% below the forecast.

As a result, over the past 5 months, the budget has generated surplus of 3.446 billion manats (36.05% more than a year ago).
