March 13, Fineko/abc.az. The share of customs payments collected through the State Customs Committee (SCC) made up 5.3% of Azerbaijan's GDP in 2024.
ABC.AZ informs, quoting SCC deputy chairman Natik Shirinov as saying this at conference on the theme "Financial control as a guarantor of the protection of the constitutional rights of the state and the private sector".
He pointed out that in 2014 this figure was only 2.6%.
"The share of customs duties in the non-oil sector has increased significantly. Last year, the total volume of customs duties reached 6.648 billion manats, exceeding the forecast figures by 3.3%," he said.
Shirinov noted that increase in revenue was made possible by simplification of customs procedures and introduction of digital solutions. According to Shirinov, by the end of 2024, customs revenues made up 17.9% of State Budget revenues (34.6% of the non-oil sector).
