March 12, Fineko/abc.az. For Jan-Feb 2025, the retail chain sold goods for 9.24 billion manats to consumers, including food, beverages and tobacco products for 5.066 billion manats and non-food products for 4.174 billion manats.
Compared with Jan-Feb 2024, retail trade grew by 3.8% in real terms, including 1.8% for food, beverages and tobacco products and 6.2% for non-food products.
ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee that for Jan-Feb 2025, 50.0% of customer spending on goods bought in a retail chain were food, 4.8% - beverages and tobacco products, 15.1% - textiles, clothing and footwear, 5.7% - gasoline and diesel fuel, 4.6 % - electrical goods and furniture, 2.5% were spent on the purchase of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, 1.3% - computers, telecommunications equipment and printed products, and 16.0% - other non-food products.
The value of goods sold by business entities operating in the non-governmental sector increased by 3.8% in real terms against Jan-Feb 2024 and made up 99.7% of the total retail turnover.
Compared with Jan-Feb 2024, retail trade turnover for Jan-Feb 2025 increased by 7.6% for enterprises in real terms, by 1.7% for individual entrepreneurs and by 3.4% for markets and fairs.
One person of the population bought an average of 451.8 manats worth of food, beverages and tobacco products per month, and 247.7 manats worth of non-food products in a retail chain.
