March 10, Fineko/abc.az. The number of operating oil and gas drilling rigs in the world increased in February due to Canada, according to American oilfield services company Baker Hughes.
On average, 1,741 rigs operated worldwide last month, compared to 1,696 in January. At that, the February level is 71 less against the same month of 2024.
In the U.S., the number of drilling rigs in February grew by eight against the previous month and reached 590. In Canada, their number increased by 38 to 247.
The number of drilling rigs in Latin America declined by two (to 130) over the past month, and by three (to 98) in Africa. Meanwhile, in the Asia-Pacific region, their number increased by four (to 210), in Europe - by one (to 121), and in the Middle East - remained unchanged (346).
