February 28, Fineko/abc.az. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is exploring opportunities for cooperation with Somalia in various areas of the energy sector, including exploration and trading.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to SOCAR that discussions took place during a meeting between SOCAR President Ravshan Najaf and Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources of the Federal Republic of Somalia Dahir Shire Mohamed.

It was stressed at the meeting that the high-level meetings held on February 12 this year between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud created a favorable basis for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including energy.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
