December 20, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, China will provide Azerbaijan with more favorable opportunities for transit transportation, which stimulates expansion of supplies from nearby regions to China through country's territory.
ABC.AZ reports that Chinese charge d'affaires in Azerbaijan Ding Tao stated about this during today's press conference devoted to the results of the year.
He added that based on its geographical advantages, huge transit potential and good infrastructure, Azerbaijan is playing an increasingly important role in deepening regional connectivity thanks to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, and its position as an important transport hub in Eurasia is further strengthened.
"According to statistics, for Jan-Oct 2024, cargo transportation via the above-said route grew by 68% year-on-year, up to 3.8 million tons. The annual figure is expected to reach a record high," he said.
Ding Tao noted that China attaches great importance to the role of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route in promoting regional economic development and ensuring the stability of the global production and supply chain.
