October 25, Fineko/abc.az. Coca-Cola HBC Austria GmbH is recalling 28 million half-liter bottles of beverages from the market in Austria because of suspicions about the presence of metal fragments that could get into the product due to a technical malfunction, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Austrian regulator, the Vienna Market Authority.

"This is perhaps the largest product recall in the history of Austria: 28 million half-liter bottles of Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite and MezzoMix have been returned to the company in this country since Wednesday," the Vienna Market Authority said.

The fate of the recalled bottles is unknown, as they are not subject to reuse. Usually disposable PET bottles are recyclable.

Drinks in 0.5 l bottles with expiration date from February 4 to April 12, 2025 and labeled "WP" fall under the recall.
