October 22, Fineko/abc.az. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is ready to develop the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions as zero-carbon zones, ABC.AZ reports, referring to SOCAR's report on sustainable development for 2023.

In this regard, the company provides for reducing emissions - improving energy efficiency, creating infrastructure for electric vehicles.

In order to develop the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions as a zero-carbon zone, SOCAR will seek to replace gas with renewable energy sources, increase production of "green fuel" and try to replace traditional hydrocarbon fuels with biogas and biodiesel.
