October 15, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Sept 2024, goods for 42.7 billion manats were sold to consumers in the retail trade network of Azerbaijan, including food, beverages and tobacco products for 23.5 billion manats and non-food products for 19.2 billion manats.
ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Statistics Committee, that retail trade turnover in real terms increased by 3.6% year-on-year, including for food, beverages and tobacco products by 1.8% and for non-food products by 5.7%.
For the past 9 months, consumers spent 50.6% of money on food, 4.4% on beverages and tobacco products, 13.7% on textiles, clothing and shoes, 5.7% on gasoline and diesel fuel, 5% on electrical goods and furniture, 2.2% on pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, 1.2% on computers, telecommunications equipment and printed products, 17.2% on other non-food products.
The value of goods sold by business entities of the non-governmental sector grew in real terms by 3.6% versus the 2023 same term and made up 99.7% of the total retail turnover.
