September 23, Fineko/abc.az. While on a visit to New York, Erdogan met with representatives of some think tanks operating in the U.S. at a round table meeting in Turkevi.
ABC.AZ reports that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed satisfaction with the recent positive atmosphere in Turkish-American relations: "Like the whole world, we are closely following the presidential and congressional elections to be held in America on November 5. The result of the election, regardless of who becomes president, will not change our view of America and the high-level dialogue in our relations."
Erdogan recalled that the last meeting of the strategic mechanism, at which bilateral relations were comprehensively discussed, took place in March in Washington.
Erdogan noted that new consultation mechanisms were created at this meeting – from the fight against terrorism to the defense industry, from energy to climate and the environment.
President Erdogan added: "Although our trade volume exceeded $30 billion last year, we believe that we will be able to bring this figure to $100 billion."
