August 26, Fineko/abc.az. Pakistan has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing energy discussions with Russia, as the two countries explore the possibility of a long-term agreement for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
According to ABC.AZ, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the nations are in talks to establish a sustained LNG supply chain.
The ministry also highlighted the existence of a contract signed last year, which facilitated the delivery of energy resources from Russia to Pakistan. As a test run, an initial shipment of 100,000 barrels of oil was successfully delivered.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak reported in July that LNG supplies were discussed during the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the SCO summit. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Moscow has supplied 7 million barrels of oil to Pakistan.
